We had 3 employees from our credit union attend Ondine’s Credit Card School in Chicago in 2008. We took our integrated billing statement with us as requested. We implemented several of the suggestions Ondine made and ended up renegotiating our contract with our processor as well.  
 
Between her suggestions and the new contract we have saved tens of thousands of dollars on a portfolio of around 6,500 accounts and balances of $11 million. The unquantifiable benefit of attending her school is networking with Ondine, her presenters and other credit union people.   
 
It is great to have a resource like Ondine to call or email to bounce some ideas off of or to have her put you in contact with credit unions with “best practices”. We are planning on attending her school in March 2011 again!

Ondine is the real deal.  Her class in Orlando in 2009 was quite valuable.  I came to the University of Iowa Community Credit Union from CitiGroup exactly 2 years ago to the day.  I had sold lots of credit cards for CitiGroup, but knew next to nothing about running a program. 
Thanks to Ondine, I am now confident in my knowledge and methods – and our numbers support the improvements we’ve made. Since I took over and began running our program according to the teachings of Ms. Irving we have had vast improvements in many areas – but here are some highlights: We have raised our outstanding balances by 8 Million dollars (almost 26%!) even while many credit card portfolios are shrinking. 
We have increased our total number of accounts by nearly 6% while actually LOWERING expenses.  And finally, despite the CARD Act of 2009 and all the negative impacts to our balance sheet, we have INCREASED or Net Profit by 14%! I would highly recommend Ondine and her fine program to anyone running a credit union card portfolio.  It will help you critically analyze your processors invoices, create a working and usable P&L sheet to ensure key performance indicators are moving in the right direction, and many other tips to help you provide a great product to your members!
